Supporting Parents to Understand their Baby - Applying Attachment Theory
By the end of this course delegates will:

Be able to describe the importance of carers and infants developing a good quality attachment relationship.

Be aware of the different infant states, behaviours and cues and how to recognise them.

Have considered practical ideas to both support parents in understanding their babies as well as to enable parents and carers to make use of this in their relationships with infants.

Ideal for:
All workers engaged in delivering services to families with young babies especially in health, social care, and early year’s settings.  This is a practical course with lots of opportunity for delegates to link ideas back to their work settings.
This course provides staff with the skills to support carers in forming good quality relationships with infants with the aim of establishing secure attachments.  It builds on and supports the booklet “understanding your baby” which is currently used as a universal provision by services in Leeds.
Please note we prefer to receive payments through a credit/debit card and this is the only option we now offer for you to purchase the course on Eventbrite (unless you are eligible for a free place). If you do not have this option in your organisation to fund the course in this way please contact us at admin.camhstraining@nhs.net to discuss alternative payment options.
