Difficulties may arise at various points in the employment relationship, and disciplinary and grievance procedures are there to ensure that these challenges are dealt with fairly and consistently. For this reason, employers need procedures that support both the employer’s and employee's perspective. Employers are advised to follow the Acas Code of Practice: Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures.
This event will take a closer look at the two main areas where a disciplinary system may be used: capability/performance and conduct. It offers practical advice for handling disciplinary interviews, providing recommendations for employers as well as potential outcomes. We will also look at handling grievances informally and formally.
Objectives of the workshop:

Take two employees through the disciplinary process, following the ACAS framework, covering suspension, investigation, hearing, appeal and the keeping of appropriate records
Help a third employee resolve his grievance, following the ACAS framework, looking at the informal and formal processes, appeal and the keeping of appropriate records
